Overall a good race. COurse was flat and in overall good condition. I only did the Duathlon but the swim looked well laid out and only ha d tom complete one loop.
There were plenty of volunteers but few bathrooms.
about 1600 people did the event, with most doing the sprint and internationl tri and only about 70 doing the duathlon.

I met Stacy, Brian, and Tonya at registration on Staurday and we all went out to dinner. Brian and Tonya did the full tri and may want to leave their view on how that was.
The Dua seemed like an after thought as it was not included in any of the course talk and there was no map or instructions for the first run which was marked for 2.5 miles. I had to be shorter or else I got much faster. We did the bike and second run with the spritn tri group. we were informed we would start at wave 16 or 17 of the swim but actually started in the 15th wave and after we were running for about 5 minutes you hear the announcer state that the Du was about to begin.

A little disapointing that at the end no age group awards wer given out as Stacy placed in his age group and finished second overall.

The $100 registration was a bit steep, and the expo was not very big but overall it was a good race. As far as the Dua goes I don't know that I will sign up again next year. Hopefully Tonya or Brian can leave some feedback on the Tri.
I agree this was a good race. We had a perfect day. The temps dipped just enough to make the swim wetsuit legal. The water was nice, but they could have had more buoys, they lost some in the wind the night before. It was hard to see the course when we turned into the sun. Tonya complained that she swam extra - was it 2 miles Tonya? Of course she still caught me three waves ahead of her.

The bike was well marked but had a lot of turns and was pretty crowded especially after merging with the sprint distance. We all had a few stories of close encounters with undisciplined bikers. The run was pretty crowded and had a couple switchbacks, but again it was well marked and had good volunteers. I noticed one runner did a 17 minute 10K - I'm guessing she missed a turn since I didn't see any Kenyans there. The bike and run are both fast and flat courses.

The price was a bit steep but good schwag. We got a nice backpack, hat, t-shirt, and of course jelly bellies. Overall I'd recommend it but I probably won't do it a second time.

Congrats to Chris and Stacy for high finishes overall and in their age groups, and congrats to Tonya on an olympic distance PR.
And let's not forget that Brian ran a 37 minute-ish 10K. Well done!
