Hi Folks,

I looked at the calendar a few days ago just to make sure that it's early January. da Mudda has treated us well over the last few days. It was just last Thursday that we froze our rear-ends running along the bike path. And today, we're outside in our shorts and short-sleeve shirts. Go figure.

Remember on the 24th, the BG will be venturing to the theaters to watch the movie 'Spirit of the Marathon'. You may want to get your tickets before that night to keep from waiting in the line. And, because there's only one showing, it may sell out. Someone asked about pre/post movie activities ie a run or recovery. We'll talk about it this Thursday. So, I'll keep you posted. A few folks have asked for Ms Audrey's Rockford Marathon training program. Question for everyone.... Who's planning on training for the marathon? Who wants to train as a group? Should I attempt to gear the runs on Thursday and Saturdays and my infamous emails around the training program? If no one wants to train as a group, we'll still meet on Thursdays and Saturdays but the logistics will be scaled back. Please let me know so I can get some idea.

If you want to share any ideas for a run, recovery, or race, pass them onto me.
We can all use a different venue for running.

Thursday 1.10.08, meet at Old Chicago on East State St for a quick few laps around Midway Village.
Meeting time is 6:00 pm. Recovery at Old Chicago.

Saturday, 1.12.08, meet at Machesney Mall parking lot, south side, towards Pennys. We'll head south along the bike path towards
the Riverside Bridge for a 6-7 mile run. Meeting time is 7:00 am. Recovery at Panera Bread on hiway 173.

Thursday 1.17.08, meet at Runners Image on East State St for a 4 mile run up along the bike path. Maybe a National Avenue
run? Meeting time is 6:00 pm. Recovery at Carlyle Brewing. Note: Runners Image closes early in January. So, please be aware of this should the weather be cold.

"To do any creative act, you must have an experience. Any race is such an experience, but the marathon is that experience raised to the nth degree. It fills the conscious and unconscious with sights and sounds, feeling and emotions, trials and accomplishments. And in the end, we know creation."
-George Sheehan in Personal Best
