Hi Folks,

Have you checked the back of your refrigerator lately? The leftovers from Thanksgiving are getting ripe. But, I hope you’re getting back into your running routine and any weight you may have gained from the extra piece of pumpkin pie isn’t weighing you down.

Onto a lighter note….da Mudda has left her winter calling card on Saturday. The downside of these wintry visits is that we’re limited to which paths we run because of the snow and ice. As an example, I looked this morning, and the Perryville Path isn’t plowed. But, I know they keep the downtown path dry. So, as I write these messages, I’ll try to use other paths, but da Mudda doesn’t like to cooperate. So, most of our runs will be on the downtown path. Yes, I know it gets boring. But, an alternative is to clam it.

The annual Christmas party will be December 20th at Bruce and Dee’s home. I’ll send out the directions in next weeks email. But, they live off Olsen Road , on the very (very) far east side of Rockford . (I guess this means Missy Sue won’t venture to the party.) We’ll plan on running from Bruce and Dee’s around the subdivisions before heading back to their home for some holiday cheer. I’m planning on bringing veggie-chili. So, please bring a dish to compliment the chili and your favorite beverage. Sweet desserts are always welcomed. Does someone want to make a chili suitable to the carnivores of the group? And, I guess we’ve been bad this year, Santa won’t be paying a visit that night. So, no gift exchange.

If you want to share any ideas for a run, recovery, or race, pass them onto me. We can all us a different venue for running.

"If you say what you think, you are considered cocky or conceited. But if you have an objective in life, you shouldn't be afraid to stand up and say it. In second grade, they asked us what we wanted to be. I said I wanted to be a ballplayer, and they laughed. In the eight grade they asked the same question, and I said a ballplayer, and they laughed a little more. By the eleventh grade, no one was laughing." -Johnny Bench

"You don't save your pitcher for tomorrow. Tomorrow it may rain." -Leo Durocher
